Guide
What to write down before a trip.
If someone else might need to help your family while you are away, leave a one-page handoff. Not a binder. Not a legal packet. Just the details that prevent avoidable panic.
The useful one-page version
- Where you are staying and how to reach you.
- Backup adult contacts near home.
- Kids’ school/daycare pickup rules.
- Pet food, medication, walking, and vet details.
- Home access: keys, alarm, garage, spare key holder.
- Medical basics: allergies, medications, pediatrician, pharmacy.
Do not include passwords or sensitive account details. If access is needed, write who holds it or where formal documents are stored.
